Rebecca Salonen and Hon. Erinah Rutangye, co-founders of the Godparents Association, have managed its affairs since 1998. In the United States, the Godparents Association, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity, and in Uganda a parallel but separate organization is recognized as an official NGO. Although we maintain close consultation, we consider the Ugandan organization to be in the best position to facilitate our activities in Africa, and the U.S. organization is considered to be in charge of activities in the West.

Hon. Erinah Rutangye, Uganda Country Coordinator
Hon. Erinah has been the women's Member of Parliament for Mbale District, in eastern Uganda, since 2005. A university-trained accountant, she serves as vice-chair of the parliamentary committee on the national economy. She is an entrepreneur and runs a small business in Uganda.
